Description: The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS honors those who demonstrate excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These four pillars have defined membership in the organization since its national beginnings in 1921.
We hope this webpage (www.nationalhonorsociety.org) will help you learn more about NHS. Please feel free to contact the officers or advisers if you have questions or feedback about our chapter.
Prospective members are also encouraged to join our Google Classroom with the code qjhmy3l7 to receive updates and additional information.
At Stafford Senior High School, the purpose of our NHS chapter is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to serve others, promote worthy leadership, and encourage the development of strong character.
To apply, students must have an overall GPA of 3.8 or higher and be at least a sophomore. Applicants should be committed to the four pillars of NHS, dedicated to upholding the attributes of our “TRIBE,” and motivated to grow academically and morally while encouraging others to do the same. The application process for 10th–12th graders typically runs from late September to late October.
