Senior Class
Description: The Senior Class Officers are Representatives of their class who have been selected as leaders among their peers. These students are elected by their classmates to fill the roles of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and Historian through voting that takes place each year. They are responsible for organizing school spirit related events and activities.

Certamen
Description: Certamen is a battle of the Latin nerd brains that practices weekly on Wednesdays from 2:10 pm to 3:30 pm in B140 starting at the end of August. We have monthly competitions throughout the year. Certamen quizzes students on their knowledge of Latin, Roman culture, history, and mythology. Certamen is open to ANY student with the above interests. However, taking Latin is recommended.

Description: Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a Career and Technical Student Organization that functions as an integral part of the Family and Consumer Sciences program curriculum. FCCLA members make a difference in families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues. Members will participate in competitive events, become involved in community service opportunities, student leadership, and develop real world skills, explore career pathways, and become college and career ready.

Description: German Club allows students to explore the culture of the German-speaking countries, meet other students who share this interest, and hopefully have a lot of fun. German Club meets 1-2 times per month and has an optional dues of $10/year which help fund the club's activities. Students do not need to know German or be in a German class to come to German Club.

Hiking Club
Description: Hiking is a great way to get some exercise and fresh air while exploring nature. Hiking Club is every Thursday, from 2:00 to 3:00 as well as a handful of family hikes throughout the school year. Full families are encouraged to come, but at least one parent or guardian must attend. We'll head to places like Prince William Forest Park, the Quarry Trail in Fredericksburg, Motts Run Reservoir, and the Shenandoah's (about 2 hour drive). If there are any students that can't make it after school, but would like to join us on the Saturday hikes, sign-up so you get the e-mails, and feel welcome to join us with a parent or guardian!

Horticulture Club
Description: The purpose of the Horticulture Club seeks to enrich the lives of students through the cultivation and management of plants. The club's unique goal is to bring out the planter and green thumb in anyone wanting to make the planet greener.
I. The Horticulture Club is responsible for planning, maintaining, and harvesting the edibles garden on school grounds.
II. The Horticulture Club is dedicated to sharing and practicing sustainable gardening best-practices and ornamental garden design techniques.
III. The Horticulture Club assists with connecting gardeners in our school community with horticultural and agricultural professionals and information resources.
Club membership is open to all students at Stafford Sr. High School. Staff members are welcome to join in club activities.

Key Club
Description: Key Club is a highly active service club at Stafford High School. Some of the major projects include "Trick or Treat" for UNICEF, the Children's Miracle Network, a March of Dimes walk and a Relay for Life Team. Other activities include many community service projects for the needy and the homeless. We also do several appreciation activities for the Stafford High School staff.
Our club has been a part of Stafford High School for over 60 years! We're sponsored by the Fredericksburg Kiwanis. When you join, you'll continue a proud tradition of community service.

Latin Club
Description: Latin Club is for those that have interest in all things Roman, including language, culture, mythology, and history. You do not have to be in a Latin class to be a part of the Latin Club. There are club dues of $10 that must be paid by the first club event in September. Dues help fund club events, Certamen registration fees, VJCL and NJCL membership fees, cords for seniors, and more.
Club events are held monthly on the second Thursday of each month.

Description: The Latinx Club provides a space for students of Hispanic descent or those interested in Hispanic culture to connect, celebrate their heritage, and explore cultural, social, and educational activities. It focuses on promoting cultural awareness, supporting academic achievement, and fostering a sense of community among its members. Activities include cultural celebrations, discussions on relevant issues, community service projects, and opportunities for leadership development.

Description: The National Honor Society (NHS) the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its national beginnings in 1921. We hope that this webpage will help you find out more about the activities of the Stafford High School chapter of NHS. The purpose of this chapter shall be to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of Stafford Senior High School.
Requirements for applying: Overall GPA of 3.8, You must be at least a sophomore to apply, The desire to reach the above goal of NHS, The goal to follow the attributes of our “TRIBE”, The desire to grow academically, morally, and to encourage others to do the same.

Pickleball Club
Description: The SHS Pickleball Club plans to meet (weather permitting) every Friday from 2:15 -3:15 on the SHS tennis courts. The club is open to students and staff, no experience necessary. Please dress appropriately and bring your own paddle and balls if you have them. We have a limited amount of equipment to provide. Our schedule will change once tennis season begins.

Description: Pride Club achieves to support and provide a network for LGBTQ+ students and allies here at Stafford High School.
Pride Club was founded to create a community for the LGBTQ+ people at Stafford Senior High School! A registered chapter of GSA, this club is welcome to anyone who wishes to participate or learn about the LGBTQ+! Whether you're straight, gay, or something in between you will always have a safe place here.
Our main goal is to create a community and support network for any and all students, no matter if you're gay or not. Our mission is acceptance and inclusion of all people, regardless of the boxes we chose to check off in the list of life. We aspire to make everyone feel welcome regardless of their backgrounds, because everyone deserves to be seen.
Our members mainly consist of people within the queer community, but we also have straight allies that come! There is no prior experience needed and we rarely require you to do work for this club. Mainly, this club is for people to find a community here at SHS.

Scholastic Bowl
Description: VHSL Scholastic Bowl pits four-person teams in a test of knowledge of English, math, science, social studies and miscellaneous areas in three parts -- 15 toss-up questions, 10 directed questions (for each team), and 15 more toss-up questions.

Science National Honor Society
Description: The objectives of the Science National Honor Society are to encourage and recognize scientific and intellectual thought, advance the students’ knowledge of classical and modern science, communicate with the scientific community, aid the civic community with its comprehension of science, encourage students to participate in community service and in turn, encourage dedication to the pursuit of scientific knowledge that benefits all humankind.
To be a member you must be in the 10th - 12th grade, have and maintain a 3.0/4.0 grade point average, must be enrolled in at least one honors science class during or prior to the eleventh grade year, must be enrolled in at least a single second year honors science class during or prior to the twelfth grade year, must maintain a B+ average across all science courses, and must maintain behavior that is acceptable to the guidelines of SHS.

Description: Science Olympiad is a STEM competition that allows students to compete in a variety of different events as a team. Events range from knowledge-based tests through laboratory and engineering builds and designs. Scholarship opportunities are available for students who compete nationally.

Description: Come and join the fun! We learn about different Spanish speaking countries, their history, their culture, their holidays and their food!
