High School Fee Reductions and Waivers

Stafford Schools is committed to ensuring that all students have equal access to educational opportunities, in accordance with Stafford Policy 5702-P and state law. This policy requires that any approved school fee or charge be reduced or waived for students who are unable to afford them.

Qualifying Fees for Reduction or Waiver

The following required fees approved by Stafford Schools for the 2025-2026 school year qualify for reduction or waiver for eligible students: 

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Exams: $99 per exam
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Exams: $124 per exam
  • Dual Enrollment through Richard Bland College (CGS Only): $35 (collected by CGS)

Note: All dual enrollment courses offered in partnership with Germanna Community College will be provided at no cost to students.

Automatic Fee Reductions and Waivers

Students who have submitted and been approved for the Free and Reduced Meal application will automatically receive a fee reduction or waiver: 

Meal Status Reduction/Waiver
Free Lunch 100% Waiver
Reduced Price Lunch 75% Reduction

 

Requesting a Fee Reduction or Waiver

To ensure you receive the appropriate financial relief, parents or guardians must complete and submit a Request for Fee Reduction or Waiver form.

This form is used to:

  1. Grant permission for the school administration to verify the student's eligibility for free or reduced-price meals. 
  2. Request a reduction based on an Other Financial Challenge (50% reduction) due to unique financial circumstances such as loss of employment, student emancipation, or other financial hardship. 

Please note: The cost of multiple exams for one or more students, by itself, does not meet the division's criteria for financial hardship.

Parents or guardians who request a reduction based on an Other Financial Challenge will also be encouraged to submit a Free and Reduced Price Meal application to be considered for a higher level of financial relief.
